Editorial Spotlight

For the Welfare of Your Soul from Fall 2006

“But . . . but . . . I . . . want to show you something,” Katie says quietly. I have embarrassed her. She shows me a miniature Book of Mormon. Perfect for an eight-year-old to love. I finger the pages and listen to her tell me how her inactive grandmother found it when they were starting to paint. Katie asked if she could have it, and her grandmother obliged. The first person she wanted to tell about her new book was me, and I had yelled at her before she could show me.

Segullah Bloggersnacker THIS Wednesday from 5-7 pm at Murray Park

Please come if you can? Why?

1. Because I’m going to be there. Isn’t that reason enough?
2. Because those who choose not to come that don’t have a pre-existing condition (living out of state, pregnancy related madness, fear of playground equipment, etc…) will be charged bigger membership fees next year. You haven’t heard about the membership fees? You will. Especially if you don’t come to the bloggersnacker.
3. Because I heard that someone was taking pictures for the Segullah Book there, and you might get famous. It’s just a rumor! But, it comes from a very reliable source (me).
4. Because I’m going to be there. Have I mentioned this already?
5. Because there will be food.
6. Because I’m willing to stay until there’s no more food or until it’s cool. And I’m not afraid to get silly when my tummy is full.
7. Because it’s all about me.
8. Have I mentioned that I’m going to be there?

Anyway, since I know I’ve convinced you to come, will you also bring something to eat/drink with you in your sweet suburban (that’s you Brooke, and everyone else of course)? And maybe a blanket to sit on? And anything else that you think is necessary (children, sunscreen, whateva).

love,

Maralise

PS: We’re meeting at the playground that is closest to the parking lot. Look for a group of crazy ladies eating food and ignoring children.

It’s a shame I will be leaving Murray tomorrow morning, or I would stop by with my family and say hi.
