We welcome unpublished poems for our annual contest. Entries may address any subject in harmony with our mission statement. There is no length limit. Poets may submit multiple entries. Entrants must be female members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The winner of the previous year’s poetry contest is ineligible to enter. Members of the staff and their families are ineligible to enter.
Entries are judged by Segullah editors. The winner receives the Segullah Award for Excellence in Poetry, a cash prize, as well as publication in our online journal. We publish the winning poem, any honorable mentions, and occasionally other contest entries in our Spring issue. The judges reserve the right to withhold the award if none of the entries merits it. The winner and any honorable mentions will be notified in advance of publication.
To enter your work, please follow these instructions:
If the submission is greater than 1 MB, send it as an attachment to an email to segullah [dot] poetry [at] gmail [dot] com. Send your submission in the body of the email, not as an attachment.
Other correspondence regarding the contest may be sent to segullah [dot] poetry [at] gmail [dot] com.
