Call for submissions: May & June Up Close

Posted by | May 2, 2010 | 10 Comments

We need you! Up Close is your chance to share you voice with us. We are currently seeking submissions for May and June Up Close features.

May’s topic is Complexities of Mothering. Maybe the seasons of mothering have brought you unexpected surprises. Perhaps it has been more challenging than you thought, or maybe you have struggled in your relationship with your own mother. Whatever your experience, share it with us.

June’s topic is Marriage—Making It Work. After all, it’s not all movie moments—walking hand-in-hand along the beach to a beautiful sunset while someone fades in a dramatic love song. Marriage comes with ebbs and flows, and delivers up some unexpected “stuff” along with all that dirty laundry. Often marriage is less about romance and more about work and commitment. Tell us your stories. How have you stuck it out, held on, strengthened the foundations, or ridden through the good, the bad, and the ambivalent?

We also are looking for future open-topic guest posts. Feel free to submit them also.

So share your stories with us. You can submit them through our guest post submission page.

Sunny, sadly, we are a shoestring operation, and can pay guest bloggers only in love.

That doesn’t mean you have to be in love to get paid. =)

Yes, unfortunately we’re all volunteers here, even our guest posters. But you will definitely feel our love and gratitude, and that’s better than receiving mere money, right? (If I knew how to do a wink emoticon here, I would.)

Oh man. Here I’ve been waiting and waiting for my check to arrive. Drat.

Sunny, I confess I am as gullible as a three-year-old. So yeah, I did believe you, but I know better now.

And I should have added a wink to that last comment. ;-) . Seriously, though, I have always wished we could pay the people who write for us. We send you happy thoughts, though…

No wink needed. %90 of what I say is a joke. Reals.
