Went and watched that same video through FB this morning... brought tears to my eyes. I think I will share it with my family tonight. Last night we watched the First Presidency Christmas devotional before bed.

Often Christmas prep overwhelms me, but then after there is much joy. Was that how it was for Mary? Uncomfortable, overwhelmed with just too much at that important time. Then though one last enormous effort the Child arrived. Then it was wonderful for her, wonderful for Joseph, wonderful for all of us.

Thanks for the tender post. I did read it in all the bustle before and it touched my heart. The week between the holidays is my most favorite all year. So now that there is time to reflect, thank you!

If your heart missed something in the too much that was last week, revel in the spirit of the the after holiday with me!

Beautiful post! My mother hovered gloriously between life and death when she was dying and even saw the room being prepared for her in her parents' home. I miss her terribly during the holidays but feel comforted to know she is no longer suffering and is with all of her siblings, her parents, loving extended family, and my father.

Thank you for being in tune with the Spirit and always knowing just what to say. Next year will be better for both of us.

I love the last verse of "Once in Royal David’s City":
    And our eyes at last shall see Him,
    Through His own redeeming love;
    For that Child so dear and gentle
    Is our Lord in heaven above,
    And He leads His children on
    To the place where He is gone.
Some of the people precious to me in Christmases past have now gone on to "where He is gone." Part of the Christmas miracle is that winter will pass and Christ's atonement will reunite what death has parted.

I loved the piece, but I found myself wishing the orchestra was playing at about half volume during the speaking parts.

Loved this, Michelle, thank you. Christmas always brings out tender feelings, and you captured them poignantly. Hope your Christmas is joyous and peaceful.

Michelle, I needed this post today more than ever. It's been a difficult few days away from home and I'm feeling very alone. My husband and I are back in his hometown and it saddens me that he is considering falling back into some old habits while we are here. Despite all of this, I hope to stay focused on Christ and find joy in the next few days. Thanks for reminding me of that.

(ps- I was speaking of: O Come, O Come, Emanuel)

"I Heard the Bells" is great too. :) I went to this last year with my sister. We had both travelled from far away places to spend time with our Grandma, who later this year, succumbed to cancer. It is a fond memory from last Christmas.
