Duh.

It took Devin awhile to adjust to being away from home when he started kindergarten, and it always made him feel safer if he saw his big brother during the day.  At lunch one afternoon, just before leaving for kindergarten, Devin prayed that he would see Patrick at recess.  When I picked the boys up after school, Patrick mentioned that he had seen Devin on the playground.

“Wow, Devin!” I said.  “Just like you prayed for!”

“Yes, mommy,” said Devin, very solemnly.  “That’s why they call him Jesus.”

I was wondering how they had decided on Jesus. That’s as good as any.

Ahhh, the faith of a child, that is so sweet! Devin is such a cutie. How does a mother respond to a comment like that?

That Devin! He’s a smart one.

Some of you may not realize the deepth/difficulty of this prayer granting. I was an Elementary School teacher in the dim past and we pretty much tried NOT to have Kindergarten kids out with the other kids.

Thank goodness for Jesus, He can even overcome the prejudices of teachers ;)
