Ninja footwear

I bought my 6 year old some green sweats from Walmart–$5 bucks a pop. He tried them on, and said, “I’m a green ninja!” and ran outside to show off his ninja moves. (Have I mentioned how much I love 6 year olds? I mean, how much longer will a pair of sweats make a kid so happy?)
I called to him as he ran out the door, “Hey, put your crocs on!”
He turned around, popped his head in, and said, very seriously, “Ninjas don’t wear crocs”.
I’m still not sure if that was a moment of very cute imagination, or just an excuse to disobey his mother.

I bought my 4 year old some green slippers (also from Wal Mart) and as soon as we got home he ripped off his shirt, ran over and got my green winter gloves, and started growling a lot.
“Who ARE you?!” I asked him.
He said, “I’m the Incredible Hulk. And you better not make me mad. So no telling me what to do.”
Well then.

I have to agree — no Crocs for ninjas.

I’m not looking forward to the time when a trip to the dollar store is met with anything less than squeals of joy. I agree – six year olds (and five year olds, and four, and three and even two) are awesome.

How cute is that! 6 is a really fun age! And then they get older and turn into big boys and little men. *sigh* I wish we could freeze them at 6!
