Thanks for the reminder, Angie! Like Kathy, I needed this today.

I've started scripture studying with Preach my Gospel, just for something different, and I quite enjoy it. Maybe because it's designed for just that: to help missionaries feast on the word. It asks good questions and has good suggestions for pondering and really applying the scriptures. It makes me feel a little like a missionary again...

I have found that keeping a notebook with my scriptures so that I can jot thoughts or passages down makes the few moments I get to read so much more worthwhile.

It makes getting through the actual scriptures take much longer, but definitely more worthwhile.

What a great reminder of how every single one of us needs spiritual nourishment... daily... hourly! I am reminded that my busy day is a blessing from HF and that it is necessary for me to pray and read scriptures in order to be successful in life.

I agree that writing while reading the scriptures gives you more bang for your buck (so to speak).

I really notice a difference between this, and just quickly reading a few verses before I fall asleep on my to-do list (although, somedays, this is really all I can do).

I read this post yesterady and have been thinking about it ever since. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has struggled with scripture reading. I've had wonderful moments of scripture study, but I've been so bad about doing it lately. Thanks for the wonderful review and reminder!
