2019 Gospel Vision of the Arts Auction

By Jessie Christensen

From the beginning, Segullah has promoted visual art by Latter-day Saint women, which is why we are excited to promote the Gospel Vision of the Arts Auction. It is sponsored by Vision of the Arts, an organization that provides scholarships and other opportunities for LDS artists. This auction provides a wonderful opportunity to own a beautiful piece of original art while raising funds for scholarships. If you would like to learn even more about this wonderful organization, you can read our 2016 interview with board member Eva Witesman and contributing artist Sarah Samuelson about the organization and the auction. Several women who have been featured artists here on Segullah have pieces available in this year’s auction, including Caitlin Connolly, Cassandra Barney, and Paige Crosland Anderson.

The auction begins tonight and can be accessed here: http://visionofthearts.org/auction.html

If you are an artist interested in applying for a scholarship or grant, you still have a few days to apply before this year’s deadline on Saturday, April 20.

You can also follow Vision of the Arts on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/visionofthearts/) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/visionofthearts/)

  1. Some lovely pieces again this year.

I enjoy bidding in the early days of the auction, even (or because?) knowing I have no chance of placing a winning bid. At least those bids show interest and appreciation, and maybe add to the atmosphere a little.
