2024 Segullah Art and Writing Contest

The editors at Segullah are pleased to announce that we are now accepting submissions for our 2024 Art and Writing Contest through March 15, 2024.

Winners of the contest will be selected from each of four categories —fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, & visual art—by the journal’s editorial boards. Each category will offer a prize of $150 USD.

This year’s contest is held in honor of Ruth Cannon Siebers, a devoted supporter of Segullah and its work.

This contest is open to all Latter-day Saint women, from beginning writers and artists to practiced amateurs and professionals.

The contest will run January 15-March 15, 2024, and general submissions are closed during this time. All submissions received during this time will be considered contest submissions.

For this contest, we welcome unpublished literary and visual art created by Latter-day Saint women that is in harmony with our mission. We encourage contributions from beginners as well as practiced amateurs and professionals.

Winners will be notified the first week of April 2024. Winners will be published the first week of May in the contest issue of the online journal Segullah. Prize disbursements will occur within 90 days of publication.

Contest submission guidelines may vary slightly in some categories from our General Submissions and can be noted within the individual category information on our Submit Work page. All information, including copyright info, essay helps, and style guidelines, applies to the contest.

Contest entrants who do not receive an award may be invited to work one-on-one with a member of our editorial staff for up to three months to refine and prepare for publication one of their contest submissions.

Current Segullah staff may not enter this contest.
